Advertising With Us
A description of your business or organisation along with a link to your website is available free. Our only request is that you provide a link to Melbourne Below on your website if you have one.
Businesses may wish to book a banner advertisement. These come in two sizes:
200x300 pixels for the home page or other specified pages. (These will appear on the right hand side of the page.)
Supply your own, or we can design one for you for a modest fee.
The banner ads cost $10 a month. (Banners can be updated during this time free-of-charge.)

Adding Your Group to the FIEFDOMS
If you belong to a group you feel would interest explorers of Melbourne Below you can add your group to the FIEFDOMS free-of-charge. Our only request is that you provide a link to Melbourne Below on your site.
Please provide the following information for your FIEFDOMS entry:
- Name of your Group.
- A brief description of what you do and what makes you special.
- Where and when and at what time you gather together.
- How much it may cost to join your group.
- Name and phone number of a contact person.
- Email address and website link - if available.

Promoting an Event in the CALENDAR
Events can be promoted free-of-charge!
Please provide the following information for your CALENDAR entry:
- Title of Event.
- Brief description.
- Where it is happening. (Please be specific.)
- When it is happening - Date and Time, and Duration - if appropriate.
- Name and phone number of a contact person.
- Email address and website link - if applicable.
- Costs for attendees - if applicable.
(For events like theatrical performances which may occur many times - a separate entry will be posted for each performance.)
There is no set limit to the size of your entry, but try and keep it to under a few hundred words!
*Please let us know as soon as you can if your event is cancelled or postponed, or if the venue changes. (You won't be the only one who is inconvenienced if our information is not accurate.)
*If you are worried about limited seating for your event please place a request in your CALENDAR entry that people ring you beforehand to check on the availability of seats.

Adding Your Site to PEOPLE
If you are a creative or interesting person living in Melbourne and you've got a website we'd like to hear from you!
We will add a link to your site free-of-charge. Our only request is that you provide a link to Melbourne Below on your site.

- Your name.
- A brief description of how you are interesting, creative or both. (A simple list of occupation or hobby can be enough -eg. "Josephine Bloggs is a creative photographer!")

Using the MARKETPLACE
The MARKETPLACE is intended to be a directory of the sort of retail establishments and artisans the explorers of Melbourne Below may be interested in.
If you own a shop that sells Gothic or medieval clothing, alternative music CDs, materials for the magickal arts, or exotic imported handicrafts we would like to hear from you.
Alternatively if you make jewellery or candles or replica swords or art and craft items - which you sell on the Internet, by mail-order, or in craft markets we'd like to hear from you as well.
It costs nothing to list your business in the MARKETPLACE - the only costs are for a banner ad if you choose to have one!
Please provide us with the following information for your listing:
- Your name or the name of your business.
- Your business address (if you have one), or alternatively how you can be found.
- What sort of items you sell, or make.
- Your opening hours - if you have a shop.
- As many contact details as you can: eg. address, phone number, fax number, mobile number, email address.
- A link to your website - if you have one! (If you don't have a website and you'd like one we can create one for you at a very reasonable price.)

Placing a CLASSIFIED Advertisement
Anyone can place a CLASSIFIED advertisement in the Melbourne Below website.
You pay for the time you'd like the advertisement to stay on the site:
- $2 for a week. ($4 with a photograph.)
- $5 for a month. ($10 with a photograph.)
There is no limit placed on the number of words in your advertisement - but please try and keep the ad to less than 200 words.
Please email images if you can. (If you send us actual photographs we will have to scan them, edit them for the web, and post the photographs back to you. This would cost you an extra $5.)
You may update the ad as many times as you need to during the period you have paid for: eg. if you are selling a collection of books you can have the ones you have sold removed from the list - or add new books!
Please let us know when you have sold the item(s) in your advertisement. (It'll save you receiving a lot of unnecessary phonecalls!)
*If you are selling something on an ongoing basis, eg. homemade jewellery, you may prefer to have a free listing in the MARKETPLACE!

(There will also be banner ads and possibly pop-up ads as well on your page - carrying advertising for other people, for this reason I'd recommend this option only if you really must save money!)
c). Free hosting is available at Angelfire and Tripod. You get:
- Site Building & File Management Tools.
- 20MB Disk Space.
- Blog Builder.
- Photo Album Builder.
(They also offer $US4.95-a-month plans with extra features and more storage.)
d). If you are interested in creating a webpage with bleeding-edge technology you may wish to use the Ajax-powered site creation tool at http://www.protopage.com/v2
e). Google has a brand new online publishing service called Google Page Creator.
f). Freewebs offers a number of features including technical help, online site-creation tools, and a photo-album generator.
2. Melbourne Below Design Service:
We offer a website design service through Cheap and Cheerful Websites (ABN 97 637 307 591).
A webpage containing basic information about your organisation can be created for as little as $20! (This can contain up to four images.)
Free updates are available for the first six weeks - it can take some time to finalise a design you are happy with. After that the site can be updated for $2.
Any typos are fixed at any time free-of-charge.

Hosting is available on the Melbourne Below domain for only $5 a year!
Our only stipend is a pair of links at the top and bottom of the page. (One link will go to the Melbourne Below Home Page, the other to the section of Melbourne Below you are linked to.) The rest of the page is yours to do with as you wish!
